Simikot
- Mt.Kailash Trekking
Simikot,
perhaps the most remote airstrip in Nepal is the jumping off place for
treks to Humla, the restricted area trek to mount Kailash and if it is
open Mugu. Here we have make an effort to give some information regarding
trek to Mount Kailash. Information on Trek to Humla and Mugu can be achieved
by mailing us.
Mt. Kailash
(6714m) is the most sacred Himalayan peaks in Asia for both Hindus and
Buddhist. Among the most important pilgrimages in Asia a 53 km circuit
of the mountain is one. Sprawling below Mt. Kailash is the Holy Lake Manasarovar,
where a ritual bath will deliver a pilgrim to Brahma's (God) paradise
and a drink of its water relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes.
Trek to Mt
Kailash is ideal choice for those interested in exploring Western Tibet.
The mountain is always covered with snow. This Trek is possible only in
summer monsoon season from May to September. This trek follows a trade
route from the north-west region of Humla in Nepal to till it takes a
diversion directly to Lake Manasarovar. Apart from enjoying the grandeur
of the glittering Himalayas this trek also sheds light to the ancient
cultures prevalent in Tibet before the Chinese occupation began.
