Dhaulagiri
Trekking
Mount Dhaulagiri (8137m), the seventh highest peak in the world rises
above the Kali Gandaki River, which flows between the Annapurna Massif
and this awesome peak.World wide this trek is accepted as one of the most
beautiful and arduous treks in Nepal. Himalayan views just spectacular.
This journey is recommended for expended high altitude trekkers in very
good physical condition .The trek is possible only in autumn due to excessive
snow and ice condition in the winter and spring .The region is practically
virgin territory for trekkers providing some extremely dramatic contrasts.

There is a
long, difficult trek around Dhaulagiri that starts from Beni on the Kali-Gandaki.
Follow the Mayangdi Khola westwards to Darbang and turn north on a tiny
trail that leads to forest into the High country. Much of the Route is
on snow and glaciers as it crosses French Col (5240 meters), Traverses
the head of the hidden valley, and crosses 5155-meter Dhampus Pass. The
trek ends with a steep descent to Marpha and a return to Pokhara, either
via the Kali-Gandaki or over the Ghorepani ridge for a panoramic view
of the entire Dhaulagiri massif.
