Rafting
- Trishuli
Tri-shuli
= (Shiva's) tri-dent. (Khola = River.) The magnificent Trident of Shiva
flows from the Tibetan plateau, down through Nepal's stunning Himalayan
gorges, into India's flat Gangetic plain. The Trishuli River plummets
down from Gosainkund Lake and is the most popular river in Nepal. This
is probably because an expedition on this river can be combined with a
trek to various other tourist destinations.
The Trishuli white
water trip is exciting, fun and safe for all age groups. Our trip passes
through lovely subtropical hill forests studded with thatched-roof villages.
Each night we cook dinner over a roaring driftwood fire and sleep on clean
sandy beaches. The Trishuli is an excellent river for those looking for
a short trip, without the challenge of huge rapids, but with beautiful
scenery and a relatively peaceful environment.
It can be
arranged for a day, 3 days or more of rafting depending on where we commence
from and where we end the trip. Due to its proximity to Kathmandu and
the easy road access, the trips on the Trishuli are mostly offered to
tourists. The Trishuli river trip can be combined with trips to Pokhara
or to Chitwan. For first time rafters it offers plenty of excitement.
