Rafting
- Kali Gandaki River
Kali
Gandaki, also known as the river of god is one of the holiest river in
Nepal. The Kali Gandaki begins its journey high on the Tibetan plateau
in the kingdom of Mustang. Plunging its way down through the Himalayas,
the river carves the deepest gorge in the world between the two 8000m
peaks Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. Now the river is under threat for a Hydro
Electric Dam which will destroy one of the best white water runs in Nepal.
The Rafting
starts from Beni and passes through remote canyons and deep gorges where
you will experience intense rapids, wilderness and mountain views. From
the first day at Kusma the rapids run thick and fast with little relent.
We are rewarded with unique views of the Annapurna range, beautiful deserted
beach camps, charming villages and a visit to an aerie, derelict palace.
The beautiful scenery on this remote river makes it a favorite among those
looking for a short to medium length trip .
The Rapid
is very high from June till August and a water volume is 1000 cumecs whereas
the water rapid is 4+ during other months and the water volume is 200
cumecs from January to May and 500 cumecs from September to December.
Run it now if you don’t want to miss the opportunity of rafting
in kali Gandaki. Our seven days itinerary Kathmandu-Kathmandu can be shortened
to 6 days Kathmandu to Pokhara to fit in with any trekking plans or may
be planning around the Annapurna Range.
